Is a group for children and teens to come together and provide community service in their area. It is youth led and meets every other Tuesday at Trinity Church.
The group began in September 2022 and had great success with their first service project. The group made 161 Blessing Bags that were distributed to those in need at the Mustard Seed in Worcester.
The group is now working on their next project in collaboration with Northborough Junior Woman’s Club and ARHS Girl Up to help end Period Poverty. The Period Palooza will be held at Trinity from 5:30pm-7:30pm on January 3st and is open to the public.
In a national survey of 1,000 menstruating teens, 1 in 5 struggled to afford period products and 4 in 5 either missed or knew someone who missed class time because they did not have access to period products.
Period poverty is not just a global issue but a local one as well.
Their goal is to help 500 people by raising enough to make 500 kits!
Each kit will include a reusable pouch, organic or biodegradable pads and panty liners and organic cotton tampons. Fihri will equally divide the kits sponsored to the Northborough Schools, Northborough Food Pantry and the Northborough Library.
They are asking you to sponsor a kit to help a menstruator in need. $10 will provide a menstruator with a month supply of period products.
Menstrual products are not covered by government assistance like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
